Payactiv data breach class action settlement

Payactiv has agreed to a class action settlement to resolve claims that it failed to prevent a 2025 data breach that compromised sensitive personal information.

The Payactiv settlement benefits individuals who received a data breach notification from Payactiv informing them that their information may have been compromised in a data incident in April 2025.

According to the Payactiv data breach class action lawsuit, Payactiv failed to implement reasonable cybersecurity measures that could have prevented a 2025 data breach. As a result, sensitive personal information, such as Social Security numbers and bank account information, was allegedly compromised.

Payactiv is a financial wellness company that partners with employers to provide financial services to employees.

The company has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the Payactiv data breach class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the Payactiv settlement, class members can receive up to $2,500 for documented losses related to the data breach. This includes identity theft, fraud, credit expenses, ID replacement costs and more. Claimants must provide documentation, such as bank statements and receipts, to support their claims.

All class members are eligible for two years of free credit monitoring through CyEx Financial Shield Complete. This service includes $1 million in financial fraud insurance, monitoring for fraud and identity theft, and more. Enrollment codes for this benefit were mailed or emailed to class members. Class members who no longer have their codes can contact the settlement administrator for a new code.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Sept. 12, 2026.

The final approval hearing for the Payactiv settlement is scheduled for Oct. 12, 2026.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Sept. 12, 2026.
