About This Settlement

The Tshiamiso Trust pays compensation from the R5 billion silicosis and tuberculosis class action settlement with six gold mining companies (African Rainbow Minerals, Anglo American South Africa, AngloGold Ashanti, Harmony Gold, Sibanye-Stillwater and Gold Fields). Current and former gold mineworkers who developed silicosis or TB from work at a qualifying mine between 12 March 1965 and 10 December 2019 can claim, as can the dependants of mineworkers who have died. Claimants need a benefit medical examination, which is free for anyone with more than 5 years at qualifying mines. Over R2.5 billion has been paid to more than 26,000 people so far. Claiming is free: never pay anyone to submit a claim for you. Help line 080 1000 240 (free in South Africa) or WhatsApp 078 504 9004.
