In February 2025, the FTC sent 5,588 checks totaling more than $2.6 million to businesses enrolled with First American Payment Systems and charged hidden or unauthorized fees. If you get a check, please cash it within 90 days.

What was the settlement about?

The FTC sued First American Payment Systems, and the company paid $4.9 million to settle. The FTC alleged that the payment processor used misleading sales pitches and charged hidden fees.

You may apply for a payment if your business was enrolled with First American Payment Systems between June 2017 and April 2020 and they charged you an early termination fee.
