About This Settlement
HireVue agreed to a $3.75 million class action settlement to resolve claims it violated Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) by collecting biometrics from job applicants during video interviews.
The HireVue settlement benefits individuals who completed a HireVue interview in Illinois that involved voice and facial recognition technology between Jan. 27, 2017, and June 25, 2026.
According to a class action lawsuit, HireVue allegedly violated Illinois’ BIPA by collecting biometrics from job applicants during video interviews without obtaining their consent. The plaintiffs in the case say they never gave express consent and were never provided with the disclosures required by the BIPA.
HireVue is a video interviewing platform that allows employers to conduct interviews remotely.
HireVue has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $3.75 million class action settlement to resolve these allegations.
Under the terms of the HireVue settlement, class members can receive an equal share of the net settlement fund. Class counsel estimates each claimant will receive around $150, but exact payments will vary depending on the number of claims filed.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Sept. 28, 2026.
The final approval hearing for the Hirevue class action settlement is scheduled for Oct. 28, 2026.
To receive a settlement payment, class members must submit a valid claim form by Oct. 13, 2026.
