Laboratory Corp. of America agreed to settle a lawsuit alleging it violated state wiretapping laws by allowing third-party tracking technologies to intercept users’ personal information and search activity on its website in violation of California and Pennsylvania wiretapping laws.Who are the class members?The settlement divides class members into two groups:California settlement class: All persons in California who conducted search queries on Labcorp’s website (www.labcorp.com or any of its subpages) from May 1, 2021, to April 1, 2026Pennsylvania settlement class: All persons in Pennsylvania who conducted search queries on Labcorp’s website (www.labcorp.com or any of its subpages) from May 1, 2021, to April 1, 2026A “search query” includes entering any search term into a search bar or menu on Labcorp’s website or making any selection from a drop-down menu on the site. What benefits can class members receive?Class members will not receive any monetary compensation from this settlement.
